The ESSENTRICS® technique meets the needs of every participant and athlete by enabling the body to move more efficiently and helping to reduce the risk of injury. All ESSENTRICS® sequences and exercises are designed to work through every muscle of the body with the objective of maximizing range of motion, strength and flexibility for optimal performance and health. This program unlocks the body, enabling athletes to reach their maximum level of fitness, speed and endurance.

ESSENTRICS® optimizes athletic potential by rebalancing the body, improving joint stability and increasing strength within the entire muscular structure. Many athletes, professional and amateur alike, credit ESSENTRICS® with improved performance and with enabling them to continue competing at a high level when they otherwise would not have been able to.

“The medical team and I got together and took a look at the condensed season schedule knowing that we would need to approach our off-ice training intelligently and sensibly to ensure that the boys stayed healthy and injury-free. Sahra [Esmonde-White] and her team at ESSENTRICS® have developed a unique stretch technique that works the body and its movement as a whole,” he adds. “This is not yoga or pilates. This is sport and performance specific.”

What started as a way to limit the inevitable groin injuries that would come during an intense, shortened training camp has blossomed into a routine the players have incorporated into their daily training regimens. “Even on the road, sometimes we’ll rent a conference room and bring the guys in there to go through the stretches,” mentioned Allard. “I see guys warming up before games and practices using those exercises. They like it because it’s working; they wake up the next morning and feel a difference, so they’ve bought in completely. If it works, guys will enjoy doing it.... from the NHL- Montreal Canadiens Magazine Article Excerpt February 2013 Vol. 27.1
